Islam Makhachev takes shot at Charles Oliveira for UFC 330 fight involvement

Islam Makhachev vs Charles Oliveira UFC

Islam Makhachev is set to defend his UFC Welterweight title at UFC 330 against Irish star Ian Garry. One of the moves that Garry has taken is to get Charles Oliveira in his training camp, something that Makhachev has not taken kindly to.

Speaking to MMAFighting, Makhachev gave an update on his own training camp, noting that he has stayed in New Jersey and that he is treating Garry as a “regular opponent,” despite the 170-pound fighter being 17-1-0:

“Everything is going very well, we’ve been staying at the same gym in New Jersey. This is just like a regular opponent, it’s not anything between countries but still, we are 2-0 (in Dagestan vs Ireland matchups), we’re gonna make it 3-0. Yeah, Charles is gonna teach him how to tap fast, that’s it.”

Islam defeated Oliveira back at UFC 280 via submission in the second round, and based on that comment he’s not too happy that his former rival is helping out his next opponent.
