MMA Fighter reportedly ‘offered’ Zuffa Boxing match ahead of UFC 330 return

UFC Welterweight Champion Islam Makhachev recently revealed that he has been having talks beyond the octagon. Speaking to MMA Junkie ahead of his UFC 330 title defense against Irish star Ian Garry, Makhachev revealed that Zuffa were interested in giving him a boxing contract:

“We had good talks about a boxing match in Zuffa Boxing We spoke with Turki and , I don’t know if it’s a secret or not, he said when you are ready for boxing, just let me know. We will do something. Yeah, why not? Box with some other fighters, why not? Turki asked me a couple of times am I ready for boxing, I just tell him, ‘Hey, just ask Dana [White]. I’m ready. Anytime.’”

Will Islam Makhachev retire at UFC 330?

The reigning Champion also confirmed in the MMAJunkie interview that he has no plans of retiring from the octagon following his 330 title defense against Garry:

“It’s like somebody put the fake news I’m going to retire after this fight. No, it’s not true, man. I want to keep going. You know the feeling when you stay in shape, stay becoming best fighter? It’s amazing. You’re never going to find something like this outside this sport. I want to keep fighting and beat all the records and we stay here more years.”
