Asuka-Charlotte set for WWE Raw, Bayley & Sasha Banks to appear

WWE has announced a couple of additions to the card for this week’s episode of Raw.

After losing the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: In Your House, Charlotte Flair will face Raw Women’s Champion Asuka in a non-title match on Monday night. Asuka vs. Charlotte is a rematch from last week, where it ended without a finish due to Nia Jax mocking Asuka and attacking her.

Asuka is defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Jax at Backlash next Sunday (June 14).

Io Shirai became NXT Women’s Champion by winning a triple threat match against Charlotte and Rhea Ripley at TakeOver: In Your House tonight. The finish of the match was Shirai pinning Ripley. Charlotte had Ripley locked in the Figure Eight at the end of the match, but Shirai hit Ripley with a moonsault from the top rope.

Tomorrow’s Raw will also feature an appearance by new Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks. “Never short on proclamations, the double champion & The Boss are set to divulge an impending announcement on the red brand,” WWE.com wrote.

Bayley & Banks defeated Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross on SmackDown this past Friday to win the Women’s Tag Team titles. Bayley also holds the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Tomorrow’s Raw is the brand’s go-home show for Backlash. Also on the episode, Christian will host the Peep Show with Edge as his guest, there will be a VIP Lounge segment with MVP and Bobby Lashley, Rey Mysterio will appear, and The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders will compete in a decathlon.
