Becky Lynch says this is her ‘final contract,’ was ‘pretty burnt out’ in 2024
Becky Lynch said she has signed her final contract with WWE and is taking some solace in knowing this is the end.
Lynch revealed the news during the first episode of the second season of WWE Unreal, saying that while she loves wrestling and being in front of the fans, the hard part is when “Mom’s got to go to work.”
“That guilt is always hard. I had this little kid that I had then been leaving. I felt like when I’d come back, she was angry at me. Like I didn’t…I hadn’t had enough time with her. The time off, it was maybe gonna be forever. I don’t think I knew. I was kind of so content. This is probably it, this is the final run. This is the final contract. So I suppose it’s a matter of knowing that, understanding that and enjoying that the best I can,” she said.
The episode focused on the relationship between herself and real life husband Seth Rollins and Lynch’s surprise return at last year’s WrestleMania 41 when she was the mystery partner for Lyra Valkyria in their tag team match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
During the episode, she also admitted she felt “pretty burnt out” in 2024 and was granted time off after talking to Triple H in May of that year around the time her contract was up.
“I told Hunter, ‘Look, my contract’s up, I wanna take some time off,’ and he said ‘Ok. Well, look, we’ll pause it. We’ll give you a little bit of time and then we’ll renegotiate the contract when you’re ready.’ So, that’s what we did,” she said.
