Former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will not be on May's WrestleMania Backlash in Providence, Rhode Island.

First noted by Wrestling Headlines Wednesday, Lesnar was originally on advertising for the show on WWE's website but that is no longer the case.

Dave Meltzer confirmed, saying that Lesnar was "definitely booked" for the show in addition to Money in the Bank in Las Vegas, Nevada, and SummerSlam in Nashville, Tennessee, but that he is off Backlash. No reason was given as to why.

Lesnar hasn't been seen on TV since losing the WWE title to Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a title unification bout at WrestleMania 38 earlier this month.

Reigns appears slated for a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura based on last Friday's SmackDown when he came out at the end of the show and was beaten up by Reigns and The Usos.

The Backlash card has started to take shape in recent days with SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair defending against Ronda Rousey in an "I Quit" match; Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair defending against Sonya Deville, and a Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins rematch.
