CM Punk advertised for FanaticsFest in New York City next month

CM Punk & Cody Rhodes | WWE Raw

CM Punk is making an appearance next month.

WWE announced during SmackDown on Friday that the former World Heavyweight Champion would be at FanaticsFest on July 19 at the Javits Center in New York City. Tickets are on sale now.

Punk has been absent from WWE television since the Raw following WrestleMania 42, where he lost the World Heavyweight title to Roman Reigns. On that show, he and Cody Rhodes teased a future match between one another.

Where has CM Punk been?

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported on Thursday reported that “signs point” to Punk making his WWE return either before or on the July 6 episode of Raw, which will take place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The report noted that while the July date isn’t confirmed, Punk’s return to television isn’t far away and he’s planned to have a significant role at SummerSlam.

A report from False Finish last month indicated that Punk’s absence from television is due to creative plans changing, with Gunther moving to SmackDown and Jacob Fatu moving to Raw, where he is now a member of the Bloodline.
