Hijo del Vikingo to undergo surgery following injury
El Hijo del Vikingo is going under the knife.
The AAA Latin American Champion shared photos of himself on crutches in a social media post on Monday, thanking fans and announcing that he would be undergoing surgery this Tuesday.
Vikingo reportedly suffered the injury just hours prior to a scheduled title match against EK Prosper that was to take place on last week’s NXT. An angle took place instead where Keanu Carver was seen standing over an injured Vikingo. The match was instead changed to Prosper taking on Carver, with Prosper winning the match.
His last match prior to the injury was taped last Monday during the SmackDown tapings, losing to Rey Fenix in a match that was for the AAA Cruiserweight title.

Since WWE acquisition of AAA last year, Vikingo has been one of the promotion’s bigger stars, previously holding the AAA Mega Championship before losing it to Dominik Mysterio. In the time since, he has turned heel and aligned himself with Dorian Roldan and Omos. At Noche de los Grandes on May 30, he defeated El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to win the Latin American title.
