Indi Hartwell works dark match at WWE SmackDown

In two dark matches held before Friday’s WWE SmackDown in Cleveland, Ohio, Indi Hartwell took on Aliyah while Austin Theory went one-on-one with Odyssey Jones.

Jones picked up the win in what was described as a squash match while Aliyah defeated Hartwell.

The 24-year-old Hartwell signed with WWE in November 2019 — the first WWE appearance for the former NXT Women’s Tag Team champion. The 26-year-old Aliyah worked another dark match recently and has been in the system since 2015.

The 27-year-old Jones also worked a dark match last week, teaming with Xyon Quinn against Theory and Harry Smith. The former college football lineman signed with WWE in 2019 and recently advanced in the NXT Breakout tournament.

After a brief WWE Raw run during the pandemic, the 23-year-old Theory was sent back down to NXT in September 2020 and is now part of Johnny Gargano’s The Way. He lost to Kyle O’Reilly on this week’s show.
