One of WWE’s most viral stars of 2025 — Karrion Kross — may be hitting free agency sooner than later.

Fightful Select had previously reported that Kross was currently in his contract year with WWE, adding Wednesday night that some believe his deal is up as early as this summer. As of now, there has been no update on WWE approaching him (and presumably Scarlett as well) with a contract extension and it’s unclear if WWE is interested in keeping the duo.

The 39-year-old has worked three straight WWE Main Event matches (2-1) since the SmackDown before WrestleMania.

After being part of a set of mass releases in November 2021, Kross and Scarlett were brought back to WWE in August 2022.

Kross made headlines after WrestleMania 41 with a post-show promo where he made comments about Logan Paul and AJ Styles before suggesting WWE went for a “viral moment” in having Randy Orton take on Joe Hendry at the event instead of himself that fans wanted.

In an extended May interview with Ariel Helwani, Kross said he isn’t disgruntled with WWE but is just hungry and that his comments come from a place of passion.

WWE non-renewed the contracts of several veterans this past week including R-Truth, Carlito and Valhalla. It’s unknown if more non-renewals are in the works.
