Kendal Grey addresses Dave Meltzer praise in TMZ interview
Over the past year, Kendal Grey has emerged as a breakout star in the WWE NXT Women’s division.
With several standout matches and her in-ring abilities, Grey has attracted praise from all across the globe, including our Dave Meltzer. Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Grey was asked about Meltzer’s praise. A few months ago, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted that Grey was “gonna be the best woman wrestler this country has ever produced,” after her match against Lola Vice on NXT.
Responding to Meltzer’s comments on TMZ, Grey shared that she wants to become the best. “It didn’t really scare me. I try not to read too much into online and what people are saying, because no matter I do, people are going to say negative things, positive things, so I just try to be me, be authentic to myself, and not read too much into it. I don’t want to get in my head about stuff.
But at the end of the day, I do want to be the best. I wanna, that’s what I train for. I come in here every single day, get better every single day, take all the information I can, and grow my mind about this business. Ultimately, if that happens, hopefully it happens down the road authentically, but I try not to read too much into it, do what I can, work hard, and if it happens, it happens,” Grey shared.
Grey is currently scheduled to face Lola Vice for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Great American Bash.
