Kurt Angle not signed with WWE, three-week program idea dropped

Kurt Angle won’t be coming back to WWE, at least not for now.

On the latest edition of his podcast Sunday, Angle said that an idea for a three-week program was dropped by the company “at the last second” and he has not signed any deal with WWE.

He didn’t go into any details about what the program was going to be about, who was involved, or why it was dropped.

Angle was at last weekend’s Royal Rumble in St. Louis along with his wife. He said he did some documentary interviews and a Friday meet and greet, but those were his only obligations.

Last week, Angle revealed that WWE had contacted him to return “for a month or so” and that he was really excited for what they had planned.

Angle has been retired from in-ring action since 2019’s WrestleMania 35. He was released in April 2020 from his backstage position, but has made on-screen appearances since then.
