Naomi added to SmackDown Women’s title match at WrestleMania 33

With WrestleMania 33 just days away, Tuesday night’s SmackDown brought some final clarifications about the show’s card.

Naomi was added to the SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania after returning from injury. She originally won the title at Elimination Chamber in February before being forced to vacate it shortly after, though her knee injury was never considered to be particularly serious.

It was also clarified that Alexa Bliss would be defending her title against Naomi, Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Natalya, and Carmella in a six-pack challenge after the match had previously only been vaguely referred to as her putting her title on the line against every available woman on the SmackDown roster.

But not all of SmackDown’s titles will be defended at WrestleMania, with Tag Team Champions The Usos joining the list of confirmed entrants for the 2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

As was noted in today’s Daily Update, the battle royal, SmackDown Women’s title match, and Neville vs. Austin Aries will air on the WrestleMania pre-show. The updated card is:

  • Universal Champion Goldberg defending against Brock Lesnar
  • WWE Champion Bray Wyatt defending against Randy Orton
  • The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns
  • Triple H vs. Seth Rollins in a non-sanctioned match
  • John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse
  • AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon
  • United States Champion Chris Jericho defending against Kevin Owens
  • Raw Women’s Champion Bayley defending against Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Nia Jax in a four-way elimination match
  • Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose defending against Baron Corbin
  • Raw Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson defending against Enzo Amore & Big Cass and Cesaro & Sheamus in a triple threat ladder match
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss defending against Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Natalya, Naomi, and Carmella in a six-pack challenge (kickoff show)
  • WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville defending against Austin Aries (kickoff show)
  • The 2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (kickoff show)
