New champions crowned at AAA Verano de Escandalo
New AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions have been crowned.
La Hiedra and Laredo Kid defeated Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana during the first week of AAA’s Verano de Escandalo on Saturday in Aguascalientes. The finish had Laredo sending Iguana into the stairs as Hiedra continued the momentum with a front face slam on Vice for the win.
This ends the reign of Vice and Iguana after 168 days. The duo had defeated former champions Chelsea Green and Ethan Page in a match that aired during the February 7 edition of AAA on FOX.
A love (?) triangle
Iguana had been champions with Hiedra for 329 days when they lost the titles to Green and Page. Vice, who formed a relationship with Iguana, fought Hiedra for the right to team with Iguana and ended up the victor. In the time since their title win, Hiedra had been looking for a potential partner to get back at Iguana, at one point teaming with Joaquin Wilde. But with the win on Saturday, Hiedra found her partner in Laredo, who recently lost the Cruiserweight title to Rey Fenix.
