Oba Femi being positioned for big spot on WWE main roster

Now that he is no longer the NXT Champion and is on his way to the WWE main roster, separate reports out Thursday are portending big things on the horizon for Oba Femi.

Femi laid down his title after defending it against Leon Slater this past Tuesday on NXT TV with it becoming official Wednesday that it is now vacant.

According to both BodySlam and WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful, Femi is heading to Raw despite his vignettes appearing on both programs on recent episodes. Je’Von Evans notably “signed” with Raw this past Monday with Trick Williams, Joe Hendry and Jordynne Grace heading to SmackDown.

WrestleVotes added that Femi is being positioned near the top of the card on the Raw roster and that “there are pushes within creative for him to be prominently featured” at this year’s WrestleMania 42 card in Las Vegas. What that means remains to be seen.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted that the reason Femi didn’t lose his title on the way out was that WWE wanted to keep him strong for his call-up.

Femi and Cody Rhodes battled at last month’s WWE Saturday NIght’s Main Event going to a no contest when Drew McIntyre interfered and attacked Rhodes.
