Potential reason Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi closed WWE SummerSlam Saturday revealed
According to a new report, Brock Lesnar may have pushed to close the show at SummerSlam.
Lesnar was defeated by Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match to close out SummerSlam night one in Lesnar’s home state of Minnesota.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, those he spoke with were of the belief that Lesnar was the one who pushed for his match to main event the show.
CM Punk commented on his match against Cody Rhodes not headlining Saturday’s show during the SummerSlam post-show. Punk alluded to others having it in their contracts that their match was to main event, saying:
“Of course I had feelings about that, but I’m not one of these guys that has it in their contract that I have to end the show. Listen, ladies and gentlemen, there is main event, and there’s the match that goes last. It ain’t for me to decide. I’m too old for that.“
“Whether I’m first, whether I am before intermission, whether I am the popcorn match, CM Punk is always the main event.”
Punk’s full appearance at the post-event show is available below.
