Report: WWE interested in Mike Santana, could be on main roster before end of 2026
Mike Santana’s contract is coming up soon — and it sounds like a move to WWE is possible for the two-time TNA World Champion.
It was reported last week that Santana’s TNA contract is set to expire sometime this July. In an update on the situation, WrestleVotes notes that there is “interest from the WWE side” in acquiring Santana, who is said to be well-regarded for his professionalism along with his work in the ring. The report says, while it isn’t known which brand he would land on if he does sign, WWE would like him to be on the main roster before the end of 2026.
Santana has already crossed over into WWE through the TNA-NXT partnership. He currently holds the TNA World Championship and will defend the title at TNA Slammiversary on June 28 against a yet-to-be-announced opponent. His most recent defense was against Steve Maclin, and Santana owes Eric Young an upcoming shot.
This February, Santana reached three years sober from drugs and alcohol. He’s been open about getting sober to be a better parent to his daughter. The past couple of years have been a “wild ride” for him, with Santana finding singles success in TNA after departing AEW and no longer specializing in tag team wrestling.
