September 17 WWE SmackDown no longer taking place in Atlanta

One of September’s SmackDown episodes will be changing locations.

The State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia announced today that the Friday, September 17 episode of SmackDown will no longer be taking place at the venue. A reason for the change wasn’t given, and a new location for the episode hasn’t been announced.

“WWE Friday Night Smackdown on September 17th will no longer take place in Atlanta,” the State Farm Arena wrote. “Refunds are available at all points of purchase.”

There was a ticket pre-sale for the show on Thursday. Tickets were scheduled to go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Eastern time today.

From September 19-22, the SmackDown roster will be in the United Kingdom for four house shows. The shows are taking place in Newcastle, London, Cardiff, and Glasgow. It will be WWE’s first international tour since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

WWE’s return to touring kicks off with tonight’s SmackDown at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
