Sheamus says ‘some circumstances came up’ regarding WWE situation
Sheamus addressed questions regarding his situation with WWE in a new interview.
Reports surfaced earlier this month that the 48-year-old is set to depart WWE upon the expiration of his contract.
Adam Glyn of the Adam’s Apple show caught up with Sheamus at an airport recently. Sheamus told him that he has been enjoying his time off.
Sheamus said:
“I’m just enjoying my time off. I’m having a good time. I’m bringing the missus over to Paris and going back to Dublin to see the family. Enjoying my workouts. I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m just in a really good place. It’s been awesome.”
Sheamus also mentioned that he will be going by S. Farrelly moving forward.
Regarding the situation between him and WWE, Sheamus said that he couldn’t really speak about it.
“Some circumstances came up. I can’t really talk about it, obviously. But, 19 years is a long time, a good crack. I left Ireland in 07, so I haven’t really had the luxury to go home and see my family and see my friends. The last couple weeks now I’ve had a chance to kind of restructure that and get back and catch up on birthdays and missed opportunities. I got a nephew and niece back home, Theo and Sophia. Love the kids and I get to see them more now. They’re awesome. Six and four.”
Finally, Sheamus was asked about never having won the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He responded by saying he has no regrets.
“I’ve had an amazing career, fella. No regrets. I mean it. No regrets.”
Regarding when Sheamus could potentially become a free agent, Fightful Select reported last week that he is believed to remain under WWE contract until October 1, 2026.
Sheamus first signed with WWE in late 2006. He is a three-time WWE Champion and a one-time World Heavyweight Champion.
