Update on when Sheamus could become a free agent
An update is available regarding when Sheamus could potentially become a free agent.
It was reported on July 5 that the 48-year-old was set to leave WWE upon the expiration of his contract. At the time, it was believed that Sheamus’ deal was set to expire soon.
However, Fightful Select reported on Sunday that Sheamus remains under WWE contract until October 1, 2026.
The report notes that it is unclear whether Sheamus had additional time added to his contract or what exactly led to his deal expiring later than initially believed.
Sheamus is also said to have “swiftly rejected” WWE coming to him with an offer to accept a restructured deal earlier this year. However, Fightful noted on Sunday that the deal offered to Sheamus was not “presented as an ultimatum as some other deals.”
Sheamus first debuted with WWE in late 2006 and has been with the company for nearly 20 years. He is a three-time WWE Champion and a one-time World Heavyweight Champion.
