Stipulation for WWE title match revealed, more announced for next SmackDown
The stipulation for next week’s WWE Championship match is now set.
On Friday, Gunther revealed that he wanted a special guest referee for his title match for next week’s show in Kansas City. After Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes went to blows later in the night, Gunther informed Nick Aldis that he wanted Zayn to referee next week.
Zayn came out and said he wanted to clear the air with Rhodes, who arrived soon after. Zayn said he feels he has been paying the price for helping Rhodes and made him feel like the worst person in the world last week. Rhodes eventually got tired of Zayn’s complaining and told him the crowd thinks he sucks because he’s become whiny and desperate, telling Zayn that he has the WWE Championship and Zayn never will. Zayn responded by slapping Rhodes, who eventually returned the favor.
Zayn exited the ring and went to grab a steel chair, but eventually dropped it and made his exit instead.
Also set for next week is a WWE Tag Team title match pitting Damian Priest & R-Truth against the MFTs. Carmelo Hayes will meet Ricky Saints in a match where the winner will face United States Champion Trick Williams at Night of Champions.
A semifinal match in the Queen of the Ring tournament will also take place, with Charlotte Flair squaring off against Liv Morgan.
