Triple H officially confirms grudge match for WWE SummerSlam
Nick Aldis and Gunther will go one-on-one at SummerSlam.
The match was officially confirmed today at the WWE Kickoff show at Fanatics Fest in New York.
The event kicked off with Gunther confronting Triple H regarding Aldis hitting him with a title belt at Saturday Night’s Main Event and costing his team with Sami Zayn the match against Cody Rhodes and CM Punk.
Aldis came out on the stage to confront Gunther, and a brawl ensued. Triple H then officially confirmed that the two will wrestle at SummerSlam.
Triple H said: “This is the WWE. What do we do? We get in the ring, we settle our differences. So at SummerSlam, it will be the Ring General Gunther versus Nick Aldis. You guys will settle this once and for all at SummerSlam.”
For Aldis, this will be his first match since 2023, when he performed on an Appalachian Championship Wrestling show in Kentucky. His last televised match was a loss to Eric Young at the July 16, 2023, TV tapings in Windsor.
