Undertaker wishes AAA star well amid injury recovery
It will be a while before Octagon Jr. is able to compete in a Lucha Libre AAA ring again, but The Undertaker knows he’ll be back better than ever once he’s able to return.
Octagon Jr. had to be stretchered out after taking a scary landing at AAA Noche de Los Grandes at the end of May. He’s expected to be out of action for several months, though the situation could have been much worse than that. Undertaker sent out a tweet today wishing the AAA star well.
“I would like to take this time to wish a speedy recovery to Octagón Jr. and thank him for his hard work and dedication to @luchalibreaaa,” Undertaker’s account posted. “We know you’ll be back better than ever and we look forward to having you return to the locker room.”
At Noche de Los Grandes (airing on week two of the event), Octagon Jr. competed in a five-way match to determine a number one contender to the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. Lince Dorado got the win and will challenge Rey Fenix for the title.
Undertaker’s AAA influence —
Behind the scenes, Undertaker has become one of the most important people in AAA since WWE acquired the lucha libre promotion. Noche de Los Grandes was a high point for AAA in the WWE era, with the El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) vs. Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) mask match earning gigantic praise.
Natalya has spoken highly of Undertaker’s AAA behind-the-scenes work, telling Busted Open Radio that he is “very collaborative” in working with Jeremy Borash and the AAA team to book the promotion.
