Vince McMahon undergoes surgery after suffering an injury

Though they didn’t provide much detail, WWE.com announced on Monday night that company chairman Vince McMahon recently suffered an injury that required surgery.

WWE’s statement: “WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon sustained an injury while training, requiring surgery, WWE.com has learned. The Chairman will be back in the office at WWE Headquarters on Wednesday, as usual.”

Before WWE confirmed the injury, Dave Meltzer had written about it in Monday’s daily update:

“We have sketchy details on this, but Vince McMahon was injured over the last couple of days. The story going around in the company is Vince suffered a torn quad while squatting and will be getting surgery this week. The only thing known by multiple sources is that there was an injury to McMahon that he likely doesn’t want to get out.”

News of the injury did ultimately end up getting out, but WWE still hasn’t confirmed the specifics of it.
