WWE files trademark for volcano-themed name
WWE made a new trademark filing this week for a term that, when translated to English, means “Volcano Queen.”
On Monday (June 8), WWE applied to trademark the name “Reina Volcan.” It’s not known who this trademark is for or if it will be used in Lucha Libre AAA, NXT, or the main roster, but WWE listed the standard language it always does when applying for wrestler names or nicknames. Here is what is included in the goods and services section of the application:
- Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment
AAA is coming off its Noche de Los Grandes event, where week two this past Saturday was headlined by Lola Vice, Bayley & La Catalina defeating Lady Flammer, La Hiedra & Maravilla. Flammer is the Reina de Reinas Champion in AAA.
On the main roster, WWE is in the middle of its Queen of the Ring tournament, where IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, and Liv Morgan have already advanced to the semifinals. The finals are being held at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 27.
