WWE has interest in Matt Taven

WWE has an interest in signing Matt Taven, according to Dave Meltzer.

Talking on Monday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer talked about several talents that wrapped up with Impact Wrestling after this weekend’s shows — a list includes Mia Yim, Taven, Vincent, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis-Bennett.

He said WWE is interested in the 37-year-old Taven, a former tag team champion in Impact and NJPW, and Ring of Honor Grand Slam champion. It’s unknown if that interest is for the main roster or NXT.

He speculated that NJPW might also have interest in Taven, Bennett and Kanellis-Bennett because of their history there.

Taven, Bennett, Kanellis-Bennett and Vincent will be written off on Impact over the next two weeks based on Saturday’s post-Bound for Glory TV taping.

The four have been in the company since this past January.

Vincent and Bateman were both backstage at Raw Monday, but it’s unknown if WWE is interested in signing either man.
