WWE SmackDown video highlights: Orton pins Kingston in six-man tag

As SmackDown’s build to SummerSlam began, Randy Orton pinned WWE Champion Kofi Kingston in a six-man tag match last night.

Orton, Samoa Joe & Elias defeated The New Day (Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods), with Orton pinning Kingston after hitting an RKO. The match was set up when Joe, Elias, and Orton interrupted The New Day and all wanted a title shot against Kingston. Orton initially refused New Day’s challenge for the six-man tag match until Kingston insulted him.

Ember Moon & SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley defeated Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville last night. After the match, Moon accepted Bayley’s challenge for a title match at SummerSlam.

The Women’s Tag Team titles were on the line, but Peyton Royce & Billie Kay got themselves counted out against Asuka & Kairi Sane. Asuka & Sane laid out The IIconics after.

Shane McMahon hosted a town hall meeting in the opening segment. Kevin Owens was banned from the building but came back and gave Shane a stunner. That led to a show-long storyline where Owens returned to face Dolph Ziggler in the main event. Shane tried to set a trap for Owens, but Owens gave him another stunner and escaped.
