WWE SmackDown video highlights: Shane 'fires' Kevin Owens

WWE was back at Madison Square Garden for last night's SmackDown.

The show ended with Shane McMahon "firing" Kevin Owens. With Elias unable to wrestle last night due to an ankle injury, Shane inserted himself into the King of the Ring semifinals against Chad Gable. Shane made Owens the special guest referee for the match and suggested that he would rescind Owens' $100,000 fine if Owens helped him win.

Owens quickly counted to three when Gable pinned Shane early in the match. Shane then added a two-out-of-three falls stipulation, but he ended up tapping out to an ankle lock after Owens stopped him from using a steel chair. After the match, Shane attacked Owens and fired him.

Gable will face Baron Corbin in the King of the Ring finals on Raw next Monday.

The Undertaker made an appearance at MSG in last night's opening segment. After being interrupted by Sami Zayn, Undertaker laid him out with a chokeslam.

Ten years after leg dropping Randy Orton through a table at MSG, Kofi Kingston recreated history by doing the same last night. Kingston will defend his WWE Championship against Orton at Clash of Champions this Sunday.
