WWE to air England World Cup game for fans after SmackDown taping
Fans attending next week’s WWE SmackDown taping will be able to watch the World Cup after the show.
WWE announced on Saturday that following the SmackDown taping scheduled for Tuesday, June 23 at the O2 Arena in London, England, the FIFA World Cup game between England and Ghana will be shown on screens inside the venue.
Doors for the show will open at 4:30 p.m. BST, with SmackDown scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The World Cup game will then be shown inside the venue, with kickoff set for 9 p.m. local time.
Alex McCarthy of SunSport was the first to report the news on Saturday. WWE issued a press release shortly after, writing:
“WWE SmackDown attendees will get an added bonus following the conclusion of the event on Tuesday, June 23, at O2 Arena in London, when they will be able to remain in the arena for an Official FIFA World Cup ’26™ Viewing, brought to you by Budweiser, which will be a live screening of England vs Ghana.
Doors open for SmackDown at 4:30 PM BST and the live football viewing, starting shortly before 9pm, will allow fans to watch the full game live from their seat, on WWE screens at The O2.”
