Impact Wrestling notes: Chelsea Green, Trey Miguel, Heath

Next Saturday’s Impact Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown eight-woman tournament continues to fill out as Chelsea Green was added to the proceedings Friday.

Green is a former Knockouts Champion that made her return to Impact earlier this year after being released by WWE. She joins Mercedes Martinez, Renee Michelle and Lady Frost as those looking to earn a future Knockouts title shot by winning the one-night tournament.

The tourney will be the centerpiece of next Saturday’s all-women’s show on Impact Plus.

Trey Miguel became the first wrestler to advance to the Bound for Glory three-way for the vacant X-Division title with his Thursday victory over Alex Zayne and Laredo Kid. Miguel is looking for his first taste of Impact gold.

This Thursday’s three-way qualifier will see Steve Maclin vs. Black Taurus vs. Petey Williams with one more scheduled after that.

Heath (fka Heath Slater in WWE) made his return to Impact on Thursday’s show as his old partner Rhino was given an ultimatum by Violent by Design to either be with their team or against them.

Heath got physical with VBD (Joe Doering, Eric Young, Deanaer) and sent them running, staring down Rhino as he wanted him to pick a side. His former partner then left through the crowd instead of doing so.

Heath has been out of action since suffering a sports hernia at last October’s Bound for Glory during a gauntlet match he was supposed to win. He finally got surgery in March of this year to repair several related injuries all at once.
