New title match confirmed for AEW Redemption
Andrade El Idolo will get another shot at his first taste of AEW gold at this month’s AEW Redemption.
By virtue of successfully defeating Jake Doyle on Wednesday’s Dynamite, El Idolo earned an opportunity at former Don Callis Family teammate and AEW National Champion Mark Davis as promised by Callis several weeks ago.
El Idolo split from the Callis clan at last month’s Forbidden Door, turning on Callis and Team MJF in the main event 12-man cage match.
The two have teamed four times in AEW, but this will be the first one-on-one match.
Davis will be looking for his seventh successful title defense while this is Andrade’s first opportunity at an AEW singles title since March 2022 and the TNT title.
