12-man steel cage match with stipulations set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
A unique 12-man steel cage match has been tabbed for this month’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door with some stipulations as part of the equation.
Made during Wednesday’s Dynamite, a team led by AEW World Champion MJF will take on a team led by Mark Briscoe (both pictured above) where if Briscoe’s team wins, he earns a future shot against his old rival.
The match was made during another verbal confrontation between MJF and Briscoe where the champion once again denied Briscoe an opportunity. Briscoe was then attacked by Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson to MJF’s amusement. Members of The Conglomeration then ran out to aid Briscoe who then said he had talked to Tony Khan and laid out the cage match challenge.
While Briscoe’s fellow Conglomeration members seem like a lock, MJF went to Don Callis to recruit some backup in exchange for some money. One member — Kevin Knight — stepped up and said he would join the team but only if he gets a World title shot afterward which MJF agreed to. That upset Andrade El Idolo who continued to question Callis as to where his shot is.
