AEW’s Kris Statlander to have surgery for torn ACL, meniscus injuries

Two days after confirming that she suffered another knee injury, AEW’s Kris Statlander posted a workout video where she went into detail about the injuries and that she will need surgery.

In the audio of the Instagram video below, Statlander said she suffered a “completely torn ACL and lateral meniscus” and that the workout was designed to help her maintain as much strength as possible to lessen any post-operation atrophy.

The timeline for the surgery is unknown.

She said the workout video was taken exactly a week after she suffered the injury which was in her Friday, August 5th match against Sierra that was taped for AEW Dark. She landed awkwardly on her right leg after hitting a big boot, grabbing at it afterward.

The 27-year-old had suffered a torn left ACL in June 2020 that kept her out of action until April 2021. She had been featured in the current angle with TBS Champion Jade Cargill, the Baddies, and Athena.
