FTR vs. Adam Copeland & Christian Cage rematch signed for AEW Dynasty
The rematch between AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and Adam Copeland & Christian Cage is official for next month’s Dynasty pay-per-view.
Following the Young Bucks and Jack Perry’s win over Kazuchika Okada & RPG Vice in the main event of AEW Dynamite, Matt & Nick Jackson talked about their frustration in not defeating FTR at this past Sunday’s Revolution for the titles but said no one would stand in their way of becoming four-time champions.
Enter Copeland & Cage who then walked out to the ring. Copeland gave the Bucks a pep talk and said he needed to get back to AEW to rectify the situation with FTR taking out his wife, Beth Copeland at last September’s All Out. He then said he wants to take the titles from them and wanted the Bucks to hear it first, revealing the rematch is set for Dynasty.
After saying he just cares about making more money, Cage said winning the titles would prove they are the best tag team of their generation and the Bucks’ generation as well.
FTR and Stokely Hathaway then came out, but both the Bucks and Copeland & Cage took them out quickly. All four men then held the belts at the same time in a staredown before the Bucks departed.
Copeland & Cage defeated FTR at All Out, but Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler then delivered a spike piledriver to Beth Copeland, writing off Copeland who went to film The Beekeeper 2 movie. The Canadians then returned at Revolution after FTR’s win over the Bucks.
It’s the first match announced for the PPV, taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Sunday, April 12.
