Date set for Mercedes Mone vs. Hazuki AEW women’s Owen Hart tournament semifinal
The road to redemption for former TBS Champion Mercedes Mone will continue on next week’s AEW Dynamite from Sugar Land, Texas.
In a semifinal match in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament, Mone will take on Stardom’s Hazuki with the winner moving on to the finals at Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 28.
Hazuki advanced this past Saturday on Collision with her win over CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone who was then attacked by Mone. Hazuki came to her opponent’s aid and left Mone laying.
Mone made her surprise return as part of last week’s Dynamite, entering the tournament as the wild card for the injured Willow Nightingale, defeating Alex Windsor. She is gunning for back-to-back Owen Hart tournament wins.
It will be a rematch from their clash in December 2024 when Mone successfully defended her then-IWGP Women’s title at December 2024’s NJPW Strong Style Evolved.
It’s the only match that has been announced for next Wednesday.
