Riho returns on AEW Dynamite

Former AEW Women’s Champion Riho made her surprise return on Tuesday’s edition of Dynamite.

Riho came to the aid of interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm as she was getting beaten down by Jamie Hayter and Rebel following Storm’s title defense over Hikaru Shida. She took out both Rebel and Hayter before raising Storm’s hand in the ring in a sign of unity.

The 25-year-old has been away from AEW since late-May and has been in Japan for several months, competing in a handful of matches. One of those was at the Tokyo Game Show as part of AEW’s presence there.

Her last AEW match was in trios action taped for a late-May AEW Dark: Elevation. That followed her elimination nearly two weeks earlier in the first round of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament.

After unsuccessfully challenging then-AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker at January’s inaugural Battle of the Belts, Riho broke her collarbone during the match and missed several months of action.
