Men’s Owen Hart tournament finals set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

AEW Forbidden Door 2026

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland will take on Will Ospreay in the finals of the men’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

Strickland advanced by virtue of his semifinal win over Brody King on Wednesday’s Dynamite. The end came when a bloodied King was hit with a foreign object by Prince Nana as he went to the middle rope, followed by a Strickland vertebreaker for the pin and win.

He will now take on Ospreay in the finals, set for Sunday, June 28 at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in San Jose, California, with the winner moving on to challenge for the AEW World title at August’s All In.

It will be the third bout in their unofficial AEW trilogy. The first came at 2024’s Forbidden Door when Strickland successfully defended his then-AEW World title followed by a rematch at June 2025’s Summer Blockbuster edition of Dynamite when they went to a 30-minute draw.
