WWE NXT Heatwave & AAA doubleheader running head-to-head with AEW All In, details revealed

WWE NXT & AAA Heatwave

This story has been updated.

The days of WWE NXT avoiding running head-to-head with AEW pay-per-views appears to have ended and they are calling in some additional backup.

As Sunday’s Great American Bash was airing against AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Sunday, NXT announced that this year’s Heatwave will air on Sunday, August 30, preceded by a AAA event that kicks off at 12 pm Eastern, emanating from Edinburg, Texas.

That is the same day as AEW All In from London’s Wembley Stadium. The time for All In has yet to be announced, but it’s assumed to kick off in the early afternoon Eastern in the U.S. as in previous years.

The AAA portion will run for three hours on YouTube with Heatwave beginning on The CW at 3 pm Eastern.

The game of one-upmanship was in full bloom in 2025 as the Great American Bash ran against AEW All In: Texas in the afternoon followed by the Bill Goldberg retirement match on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in the evening.

That was followed by the 2025 edition of Heatwave running on the same day as Forbidden Door that began in the afternoon followed by WWE Wrestlepalooza being announced on the same day as AEW All Out, a show that was then moved to the afternoon afterward. AEW WrestleDream, Full Gear and Worlds End did not have any direct WWE competition.
