Tuesday News Update

  • Roman Reigns’ title reign officially reached the two-year mark today. At Payback 2020, Reigns defeated Braun Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to win the WWE Universal Championship.
  • Reigns tweeted this afternoon: “A run like never before. Success in every single measure and in every category. This is what the Top of the Mountain looks like so Acknowledge and appreciate it.”

  • On Raw last night, Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins got into a heated war of words to build up their match at Clash at the Castle this Saturday. • Paul “Triple H” Levesque commented on Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah’s WWE Women’s Tag Team title win: “The culmination of a tournament featuring some of the brightest stars from the @WWE and @WWENXT Women’s Divisions. Congratulations to @RaquelWWE and @WWE_Aliyah on their #WWERaw MAIN EVENT win and becoming the NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions!!! #JustTheBeginning”
  • When asked when she’ll be returning to the ring, Carmella responded to a fan on Twitter: “I’m not sure yet.. still recovering. Hopefully soon! I miss y’all” Carmella was injured when she hit her head during a match at a WWE house show earlier this month.
  • Dakota Kai told Digital Spy that Bayley first brought up the idea of them being in a faction together in 2018: “Bayley has been talking to me about this idea for years now. We were talking about when I was still in NXT, it was like 2018 when she first brought it up to me and then again at Evolution. We just kept like saying, 'This needs to happen, we want this to happen so bad,' and obviously the members changed but I was the constant. So I think it's very poetic that it happened at SummerSlam and that her idea that we've been talking about for so long finally happened on such a big stage and with Iyo as well, it was an emotional moment for all of us that it finally happened."
  • Shelton Benjamin vs. R-Truth and T-Bar vs. Cedric Alexander will air on WWE Main Event this week.
