Impact Emergence notes: New champions, future title matches

On a relatively quiet Impact Emergence from a news perspective, one title did change hands among the five title bouts on the show — and it came on the pre-show.

Former Impact Knockouts Champions Deonna Purrazzo & Chelsea Green added Knockouts Tag Team title matches to both their resumes for the first time as they defeated Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary for the titles.

The end came when Rosemary accidentally misted Valkyrie instead of Green, leading to a double-team suplex to give Purrazzo & Green the win.

The loss ends the near two-month reign for Valkyrie & Rosemary. They had just one successful title defense during that time.

Later on the show, Honor No More staved off faction elimination once again with their win over Bullet Club, earning longtime tag team partners Matt Taven & Mike Bennett a future Tag Team title match as a result.

The two picked up the win for HNM as they hit the Climax on Doc Gallows for the pin. Gallows’ partner and fellow Tag Team Champion Karl Anderson will face Mike Bennett Saturday during their TV taping to help further the storyline.

The show also set up a future title match between Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace and Masha Slamovich. After Grace’s win over Mia Yim Friday, Slamovich emerged and handed the champion a black envelope which is her way of challenging someone. Slamovich has been on a major winning streak as of late.

Catch up with all the happenings from Emergence and look ahead to what’s being taped Saturday for the next few weeks of TV.
