Sheamus reportedly set to leave WWE after turning down contract extension
Sheamus is reportedly set to leave WWE.
Fightful Select reported on Sunday that the 48-year-old recently turned down a contract extension to remain with the company and will be leaving when his current deal expires.
It is not clear exactly when Sheamus’ deal is up, but Fightful writes that they have been told his contract expires soon.
The report also notes that WWE had previously approached Sheamus about taking a restructured deal, which he is said to have “swiftly rejected.”
Sheamus first signed with WWE in late 2006. During his time with the company, he has been a three-time WWE Champion, one-time World Heavyweight Champion, three-time United States Champion, and five-time Tag Team Champion.
Sheamus also won King of the Ring in 2010, the Royal Rumble in 2012, and Money in the Bank in 2015. He was voted Most Improved in the 2010 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards.
Sheamus is now going by “S. Farrelly” on social media:
