Roman Reigns-AAA collaboration teased at the end of WWE Raw
A tease between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio ended Raw on Monday.
The World Heavyweight Champion came out at the end of the show, approving Jacob Fatu’s dismantling of Royce Keys following a street fight between the former friends. As Reigns re-entered the gorilla position, he met with Rey Mysterio and the two shook hands. Mysterio reminded Reigns that he was the General Manager of AAA.
“Let me run something by you,” Mysterio told Reigns. The two walked away together to close out the show.
WWE’s aggressive head-to-head battle with AEW
WWE has made multiple moves against AEW in recent months, pitting both NXT and AAA against their rival’s biggest shows of the year. On August 30, a AAA event will go directly head-to-head with All In. NXT Heatwave will air immediately after the AAA show concludes.
And that’s isn’t all. Last month WWE announced that a Worlds Collide joint show with AAA would be taking place not only on the same day as AEW All Out, but also in the same area. Both promotions will be in Chicago on September 26, with AEW running the Allstate Arena while WWE/AAA will run the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. CM Punk teased a Worlds Collide appearance in a recent interview.
In between the two shows there will also be AAA’s biggest event of the year, Triplemania. The first night will take place September 11 in Las Vegas, while the second night will be held on September 13 in Mexico City.
