AEW Rampage to have time slot change for next two episodes

This story has been updated.

While AEW Dynamite has experienced preemptions and time changes due to the NBA playoffs in the past, the next two editions of AEW Rampage will experience the same due to the NHL playoffs.

The Friday, May 6th edition will have their earliest start time ever at 5:30 PM Eastern while the Friday, May 13th edition is expected to start at 6 PM Eastern — both due to NHL playoff action.

Rampage has seen some shifts already this year due to the NBA. The most recent case was April 15th due to a playoff game. That 7 PM Eastern episode was a live edition, headlined by AEW Champion Hangman Page vs. Adam Cole in a Texas Death Match for the title.

Even with the change to an earlier time, viewership didn’t improve as it was down 19.7% from the week prior, dipping to a 482,000 viewer average.

That April date followed a February time change to NBA All-Star Weekend and a March time change due to the NCAA men’s tournament.
