- Swerve Strickland’s return strongly hinted at for Redemption
- Anna Jay’s AEW contract status
- Why MJF isn’t at Redemption
Here’s everything else newsworthy and not kayfabe:
- Khan said Hangman Page’s return seems “imminent” after his recent promo on Collision. He wasn’t asked why it was announced on short notice.
- Asked if the early start time for Redemption was due to public transit concerns with a late show, Khan said he wanted to “experiment with some things.”
- Asked to confirm if Kenny Omega vs. MJF was tabbed for Redemption given the TSN promo that indicated as such, Tony Khan said he has to keep “some slight of hand in these things” and without directly saying what the plans have been, he thinks they have made the right moves.
- Asked about the status of AEW Heels, he said he hasn’t been directly involved with that, but needs to ask some people in the business about it.
- Asked about the free agents now available to him, he says he is keeping an eye on things and that there’s a lot of talent out there. He didn’t hint at any appearances this weekend.
- Asked if he’s considered a Crockett Cup-style tournament given all the teams he has access to in AEW, ROH, NJPW and CMLL, he said he has thought about it and puts over the ROH tag team scene strongly in doing so. He also said he wants to build up women’s tag teams as well.
